Record Number of Students Graduate in December 2009

A graduation ceremony was held for 26 students in the grounds of the Learning Centre at Forrest Street, Bunbury for our Youth Directions Skill Development course on 14th December 2009.

In front of family and friends the students were presented with their certificate by Neil Milligan, Director of Schools with the Education Department. The celebration concluded with a delicious luncheon.

Jobs South West Community Services worked with 3 Youth Directions groups, 2 from the Bunbury area and 1 from Busselton. The course was specifically designed for those school aged students who were becoming disengaged from traditional education. The objective was to give the students the opportunity to succeed in learning in a supportive and encouraging environment.

A trainer and youth worker, with a wealth of experience worked with each group. 2 of the groups were also supported by students from TAFE and ECU on work placement.

The feedback and success of this course has encouraged Jobs South West Community Services to continue to strive to deliver relevant, meaningful and innovative training to the Youth of our region in 2010.
