Setting up a traineeship the employers guide:
Find the candidate
- Advertise the position in the newspaper or a job search website
- Existing staff may be eligible
- Contact Jobs South West (08 9721 5033 and ask for Paul) who can assist in the recruitment process
Select a Registered Training Organisation to co-ordinate the traineeship process
- Select a New Apprenticeship Centre (NAC), Jobs South West can provide you with contact details of a NAC. They will arrange to meet with you and explain the process in more detail. In addition, they will explain the terms and conditions and the financial incentives available to you as an employer
- Talk to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Jobs South West (08 9721 5033). The role of the RTO is to provide training for your trainee
Sign a Training Agreement/develop a training plan
- The training agreement is a legally binding agreement between an Employer and their Trainee who together agree to work and train for a length of time
- Select the units in conjunction with the trainee and RTO representative that best meets the needs of the organisation, job role and trainee development
- Training contract will be completed with the NAC
